Some Healthy Snack Suggestions

In a previous post, I noted the importance of eating snacks at regular intervals during the day.  Let’s take a quick look at what sorts of snacks we can prepare. Firstly, snacks should be easy and quick to prepare. If you are out and about during the day, take a piece of fruit, or a packet of mixed nuts or seeds.  Even if you don’t feel adventurous about the snacks you prepare, just make sure they are healthy, and consist of the right mix of protein and carbohydrate, and most importantly, it is something you enjoy eating!

Some examples of snacks are: some nuts, an apple, pear, banana, soya nuts, sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds. For something a little bit more wholesome you can also have a rice cake, oat cake, or a slice of rye bread.  For an added flavour, you can also take a small tub of guacamole to go with it.
